PB& J Vodka? No way!

Yes, it’s true. The vast varieties of vodka have yet another to add to the list of flavors out there in the world; Peanut Butter and Jelly. I know that I have gone into liquor stores and I was always fascinated buy the different flavors of vodka, and sometimes I wonder when they are going to stop? Will it be when everything you can think of appealing or unappealing to your tastes buds is turned into a liquid flavor spirit? I sure hope not.
The new flavor is expected to hit the shelves later this month and it seems that it may be something everyone will want to try. The makers of this childhood favorite sandwich flavor spirit, is Van Gogh Vodka, and they describe the flavor profile: “The fragrance of our PB&J vodka is predominantly of peanuts complemented by the fresh fruit aroma of raspberry. In the mouth, the roles are reversed with the raspberry taking center stage supported by the toasty flavor of peanut butter and a hint of vanilla on the side.”
Seems interesting enough on paper, but I personally wouldn’t try it. The thought of this new flavor makes me question who they are really trying to market this to. When you think about the PB&J, you think of childhood memories of your mom fixing you a quick sandwich that you wash down with a big glass of cold milk, not something you want to tip back on a Friday night with your buddies at the bar. The last time I checked two through twelve year olds haven’t been given the right to drink alcohol.
So, why this flavor? It makes you think about what will they come up with next? Maybe ham and cheese Vodka? Or maybe tuna fish on white? When do you draw the line and say enough is enough? Tell us what you think? Would you try the new vodka flavor? Who do you think they are trying to market with this new flavor? Let us know!
