Parental License

Every day we get bombarded by stories about people who beat their kids or much worse offences. Recently the influx of these cases seems to be increasing and it has brought back a thought that an old friend believed in. She had the idea that people should have to have a license to procreate. If you think about it would be an ingenious way of keeping those who have undesirable traits, like the traits that allow someone to beat up a kid, from actively procreating. Yes, I know that this idea is a slippery slope, and that the definition of undesirable could be leveled on certain groups of people. But I am starting to really get sick from seeing all these children being mistreated or bad parents from raising children, but that is a topic for another time.
