Music Stimulates the Brain

July 15, 2011 No Comments

“Scientists have found that music stimulates more parts of the brain than any other human function.”

At least that is according to an article which can be found on the NPR website. I found the article to be very interesting because music is often thought of as a pass time or a hobby, but now it seems it is becoming a legitimate tool in the world of science. The article states that people who have suffered from a stroke and have lost the ability to speak may improve by listening to music. It is called “melodic intonation therapy”. If music is a big part of your life, go read the full article because it goes in to much more detail as to how music can be therapy by reaching certain parts of the brain that otherwise could not be reached.
