Jobs
May 30, 2011 No CommentsAs a college graduate and current masters candidate, I have wrestled with the idea of a career for quite some time. I understand the argument of doing what you love for a living, but what if that doesn’t pay the bills? Almost immediately upon graduation, student loans start coming due and the real world beckons for the newly graduated. Having an education versus having the required experience for a job are two separate states of being. The question I pose to you my loyal readers: is it ok to give up on your hopes and dreams for a higher paycheck? Is it better to be in the hole financially speaking but in a career that makes you happy, or is getting paid in a job you don’t particularly care for and then retiring earlier a better decision? What do you think?
