Get Involved: The Fight for Air Climb 2012

On March 10^th this year, The American Lung Association will be holding an event in downtown St. Louis to raise awareness and (hopefully) money to fight lung disease and its causes. The event is call The Fight for Air Climb and it aims at, like its name suggests, helping people breathe easier. Unlike the walk-run events that many organizations regularly utilize to raise funds, The Fight for Air Climb event sends its sponsors up forty flights of stairs to the top of the Metropolitan Square building in downtown St. Louis. I know, sounds exhausting, but it’s for a good cause.

The event website sates that the participants all have their own personal reason for making the climb, “Whether climbing for a winning time or simply to cross the finish line, in honor or in memory of someone with lung disease, this event is a great way to challenge yourself physically. We guarantee that all finishers will have a new found respect for healthy lungs!”

To sign up for the event you need to log on to their website and either register yourself or a team. The registration is $25 in advanced and $30 the day of. The registration includes refreshments and the official 2012 Saint Louis Fight for Air Climb t-shirt. Prizes will be given out to the top fundraisers, top teams and the fastest climber.
