Dinner Table Discussions You Don’t Have but Should (Part 1)
June 6, 2011 No CommentsI remember when I first got into college, my parents told me a few topics that you should not talk about with other people. Chief among these was religion, because this topic is one that most people don’t care what you say and will just ignore you. Their stance was that you should avoid these topics to avoid arguments. On the contrary, I believe that you need to have these discussions to delve into what makes up who you are. Most people seem to forget that this country was founded by people that believed in one God. The values of our nation started there and have kept going from there. Values are often, but not always, based on religion. I believe that everyone should be true to themselves, and that means you need to find out where you stand with your values. This is why families and people in general should discuss Religion around the dinner table, it allow you to develop and become a much better person. Where do you fall in the spectrum? Do you agree or disagree? I want to hear what you have to say.
