If you have a low IQ – you probably use Internet Explorer

There was a new study recently that pinned Internet Explorer users at the bottom of the IQ chart. Not even Internet Explorer 9 users could redeem themselves which is kind of surprising since Windows computers come with Internet Explorer installed by default. On the other hand though if their smart they’ll only use Internet Explorer to download a better browser. Internet Explorer users not even hitting a 100 IQ while other browser such as Chrome hitting a 110, Firefox hitting an 105 IQ, Safari hitting 115 on average and finally Opera being the highest hitting a 125.

Hopefully with this new information, Internet Explorer users will start to move onto bigger better browsers and stray away from the Windows default browser. If you’re an Internet Explorer user and want to move on with the wave of change I’ve compiled a list below of where you can go to download better browsers. In my opinion though Google Chrome is the best choice but to each his own.

- Google Chrome

- Apple Safari

- Mozilla Firefox

- Opera

- Camino (Mac OS only)

If you would like to read more about the study done by the AptiQuant Psychometric Consulting Company I’ve got a few links below for you. It seems that a few Internet Explorer users did not like the news that they might have low IQ’s so they’ve decided to file suit against the psychometric company. The chances of them winning are fairly unlikely though and a loss would just validate their data even more.

It seems month by month the used to be giant Internet Explorer is dwindling away. What used to set web standards is now nothing more than a boring, stale, hard to deal with experience. They have fallen behind in the browser wars now taking up less than 25% of the market. It seems like just yesterday that Internet Explorer was dominating – half of the people browsing the internet in 2008 would be using Internet Explorer. The only competitor was Mozilla Firefox, but once Google launched its revolutionary browser “Chrome” market shares plummeted and Google’s new browser rose to power. I am a little glad though since I haven’t used Internet Explorer in years because of how far behind it is in web standards. Will Microsoft ever be able to make a comeback in the browser wars or is it too late?

With the launch of Internet Explorer 9 and the upcoming Internet Explorer 10 it seems that Bill Gates will go out fighting. Microsoft is now making some pretty bold statements like the dropping of Internet Explorer Conditional Statementswhich is what keeps some websites together. Originally created because of how finicky older versions of Internet Explorer acted when pinned against each other. Then Microsoft announced that they would be dropping support for the browser that’s 2 generations behind. Meaning when Internet Explorer 10 comes out Microsoft will drop support for Internet Explorer 8. Which can you blame them? Google has also dropped support for Internet Explorer 7 for Google Docs and Gmail.

If Microsoft goes through with this (which of course they will) can Internet Explorer actually make a comeback? If they implement speedy updates and drop browser support for bad browsers (*cough IE7*) and making everything universal by getting rid of their conditional statements then they could have a chance. Now all they need is to bring back the spirit of testing the web standard limits like Firefox and Chrome are doing. I can see a comeback and I’m looking forward to see what Internet Explorer 10 brings to the table. Do you think Microsoft can make a comeback? Will Internet Explorer 10 revolutionize the web like the good ole’ days or should Microsoft just drop out and stick to Operating Systems?

With Google Chromes mysterious background updates that most people don’t notice to the new Mozilla FireFox 4 and the much anticipated – CSS3/HTML 5 compitable Internet Explorer 9 coming out soon there’s still no clear winner really. In my mind those are the three biggest browsers. In fact when i first became a web programmer I naively thought that those were the only 3 browsers in existence; HA! Little did I know there was a plethera or browsers and there’s always a demographic out there using them, browsing the internet with them and watching videos. Browsers such as K-Meleon, Safari, Opera, Konqueror and so many more. Over the years of being a web developer I’ve learned that they all pretty much render web pages a little differently than others. Such as Opera I’ve noticed that it loads images differently than other browsers. Also in Safari the padding and sizing is a big difference between it and Internet Explorer. These small differences keep me from using these browsers to browse the internet. I personally use Google Chrome to browser the internet because honestly – I heart Google and everything they do. Plus Chrome is just sleek and is made of pure speed, but you chrome users already know this . I’m curious what browsers our demographic primarily uses to browser the internet so I purpose this message: What browser do you use?
