When I was a kid, I liked to do a lot of arts and crafts, and I learned most of it from my grandmother. During those arts and crafts she taught me ways to reuse my scraps. One of those ways was to make paper dolls and clothing to go with them. I think this is a fun way little girls can be artsy, green and have something to play with later on. All you have to do is either go through old magazines instead of throwing them away and cut out figures from that or have your child draw her own. Then she can use almost any kind of paper scraps and cut out clothing shaped pieces for her paper doll. If she doesn’t quite get into the paper doll thing, another way to reuse those paper scraps is to create collages. Magazines are especially useful when you want to incorporate words into the collage. Any kind of paper scraps will work for this as well; just cut/tear the paper to your liking and add it to your masterpiece. You’d be surprised at the different kinds of patterns and textures you can come up with! Inform us about any other ways you know of that involve using paper scraps.
