Tripod Steady Cam

August 23, 2011 No Comments

Have you ever been shooting for a video and needed that perfect pan but could never get it because of camera shake. Well the solution is a steady cam, sure you can go out and buy a steady cam rig for a couple hundred dollars OR you can make one for free! If you have a Tripod your all ready to go! To make your tripod into a steady cam, all you need to do is release one of the legs from the lock so that it can go a full 90 degrees. Pull one leg a full 90 degrees and leave the other 2 legs as they are once you have your legs set up simply arrange the mount for the camera 90 degrees and that’s it! The weight of the other two legs will balance out the weight of the camera and all you do is use the third arm as a handle. This rig will severely reduce camera shake and help you get cleaner, smoother looking shots for all of your videos!
