Kindle Fire stomps out the competition this holiday season
January 10, 2012 No CommentsAmazon’s Kindle Fire took the tablet world by storm. Even with the world-wide recession, people are still buying high priced electronics. In just December only, consumers had bought over one million Kindle devices a week. This took away from Apple’s initial estimate on their consumer report. According to Brooke Crothers and his sources, Apple lowered their shipments over the holiday season due to the Amazon Kindle’s growing profits. Apple knew that the Kindle Fire was taking the profits due to the similar features and its cheaper price. With almost a three-hundred dollar difference, I can see why some consumers went with Amazon’s devices.
The Kindle Fire is on Google’s Android market which isn’t as good as the Apple Store, but the Kindle Fire has Netflix movie streaming and access to Amazon’s cloud and all its content. Despite the smaller screen and less feature-rich applications, the Kindle devices keep flying off the shelf, which is making an impressive competitor against Apple’s iPad and other tablets.
