Making an Impression
April 16, 2011 No CommentsGetting ready for an interview? Want to stand out from the rest of the applicants? If you want to stand out from others, you’re going to have to come up with creative ideas to grasp your potential employer’s attention. One good way is to come up with an off-the-wall portfolio to present to those people. Many people make their portfolios as just a stack of paper full of information about themselves and why they should be chosen for a particular position. But I would say that a better route to take would be to show your potential employers that you think outside of the box while still giving them all the same information as a regular portfolio. You can do this in a countless amount of ways (hence the creative part…). One good way is to come up with some creative packaging for your portfolio, imagine what someone would think if you walked in with a shoebox to an interview! It would most defiantly be an attention grabber, once you have your attention, the goal would be to have a creative way of displaying your work. Imagine if when you opened the shoebox and there were a bunch of little pieces of paper hanging around the inside of the box, or maybe even putting a mini DVD player inside and play a small video of your strengths and information. There’s an endless amount of options to create a portfolio that fits your personality perfectly. What are some more creative portfolio designs you can think of?
