It is no surprise that many things add to our individual carbon footprint. But do you know which is contributing the most? A recent article I read said our microwaves contribute the most with .945 kWh per use followed by the dishwasher and the dryer. All common house hold appliances, which would be hard to simply stop using. So what can we do about it? Make sure your dishwasher is full before starting the wash, this saves energy, and water. Limit the usage of your microwave by cooking food in an alternative way and maybe even try air-drying your clothes instead of using the dryer. We have a huge carbon footprint in my house. We all wash our own dishes in the sink, dry our clothes separately, and use the microwave daily. With that said, I can definitely see us trying some alternatives event though it might be a challenge. What do you think?
