There are around 100 million passenger cars on the road everyday mostly driven by a single individual for personal transportation. A four-mile trip by car adds 15 pounds of pollutants to the air we all breathe. How many miles do you usually drive in a day? Not including any personal activities, I usually drive about 45 miles to and from work every day. It’s a long drive by car and it would be an even longer ride by bike. I understand in places such as St. Louis it is not entirely possible to replace your car with a bike without arriving extremely late or caught in our crazy Missouri weather. But there are some trips we can replace. Recently, I have replaced my trips to my friends’ houses. They all live fairly close to me so riding a bike doesn’t waste much time for me and I like being able to reduce my carbon footprint. What trips can you ride your bike for?
