Plastic Spoon Wreath
August 5, 2011 No Comments‘This is such a simple, beautiful project that can be recycled if you every get sick of it or it doesn”t turn out right. Besides, how many times have you had a birthday party or event and had to throw out all of the utensils. This project provides an alternate way to recycle these utensils after a quick soak in your sink. You will need: 40-50 plastic spoons for the size shown (less if a smaller circumference is desired), hot glue and about 15 minutes (obviously if you would like to make a different colored wreath, you will also need paint- spray paint works best). You will put two dabs of hot glue on each spoon: on the neck (near the bowl) of the spoon and on the end of the spoon handle. Beginning, place the second spoon on top of the first, with the bottom of its bowl on top of the hot glue on the neck of the first spoon and line up the second spoon’s handle with the handle of the first. The top spoons handle should extend about a half of an inch over the end of the bottom spoon. Continue this process until the wreath curls to meet at the start (the wreath does the curving for you). Put a last dab of clue on the bottom of the last spoon and attach to the neck of the first spoon. You are now ready to spray paint the glued wreath and finish with a long piece of ribbon to hang it.
