How to Make Yourself Stand Out
August 5, 2011 No CommentsIn business, you need to be unique. If customers don’t see it, they will go to someone who is. Unfortunately, as easy as it sounds in theory, in practice it is one of the toughest things to achieve. In a recent article I read, it stated one easy way to make yourself stand out is to simply ask your customers. Establish a unique relationship with them by inviting a few of them to lunch and talk to them about it. Ask them about the business, they may drop a hint of a service they lack and no one is providing them with, giving you an advantage. They may share many of their insights on your industry with you and give you some ideas of where your unique position might be.
No one knows the needs of your market better than the very people who are on the receiving end of your services as a result; I am myself a huge advocate of asking clients for help. Not necessarily, bombarding them with questions the moment they walk through the door but simply utilizing their feedback. What do you think? Could you talk to any of your customers about your business?
