Chrome Experiments: HTML5 examples
September 26, 2011 No CommentsDevelopers looking to learn HTML5 should check out Chrome Experiments, a series of HTML5 examples that show off what the language is capable of. Some of the examples are hard to believe that they were done in a simple programming language, but they are awesome.
The site in general is really more of a testing ground for what the Google Chrome web browser is capable of, so expect to be asked to download the program a lot. If you already have it though, I suggest you visit the site on that browser. Now there are a number of cool things to see here, like image filters, a Google page that collapses when you use it, and even a music video by Ok Go that uses your whole screen and lets you enter a personal message at the end. There are plenty of cool things to look up, and some of them may have practical applications soon.
So, besides setting up more hype for HTML5, Chrome Experiments is a pretty cool site to mess around with and get familiar with some of the new features yourself. As a developer, I hope I can get at least one of these to work myself, then other sites using new features would be easier.
