100% Made from Trash

December 6, 2011 No Comments

We can see Eco-friendly design everywhere, like the grocery store, websites, and the office supplies on your desk. Eco-friendly design has been a popular method for promotions and advertisements. And there are lot of boring, green-colored, ugly, and only-for-tree-hugging-hippies eco-friendly designs. However, people think they should keep using eco-friendly marketing even if the subject doesn’t necessary propose to save the earth and trees.

A few days ago, I found a phone case made from 100% recycled trash. The phone case’s material is called Polli-ber.TM It is created with agricultural waste and post-consumer thermo-plastics. What a smart idea and real earth saving promotion! Pretty design attracts not only people that are all for nature, but also new hipsters and every generation of consumers. Some people think iphones and ipads are the must-have technologies for a new lifestyle. People are eager to have them, and they cover them with fancy cases that represent their personalities and styles. New material, innovative design and new technology has created new ways to market eco-friendly products. You can find more examples at http://www.miniwiz.com/products/materials/re-case. I think designers and marketers should think about how they can create and sell eco-friendly designs in new and innovative ways.

Have you seen any innovative, eco-friendly designs for new technology? How did you react? How was it different and new? Let me know in the comment section below.
